July's Noisy Offering was for Prison Ministries
On July 28, 2019 money collected went toward the purchase of bus transportation passes. When the people get out of prison, they often have little money or transportation. It is difficult for them to get to and from jobs. A transportation pass will allow them to use bus transportation for a month. This will be a great help for them in getting reestablished in the community. Prayerfully consider this unique ministry. In Matthew 25:35 &36, Jesus said, “For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me. I was sick and you looked after me. I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ !
August's Noisy Offering is for Backpack Ministries
We are partnering with the Foodbank of the Southern Tier to feed elementary students at risk of “food-insecurity”. Around 1 out of every 5 children do not have enough food to eat in upstate New York. This ministry provides children who are at risk of hunger with a bag of nutritious, easy to prepare food each Friday during the school year for them to take home for the weekend. This program fills the gap left when children do not have access to the National School Lunch Program on weekends and breaks. Packs are distributed discreetly through participating schools to ensure confidentiality. $125 will feed one child each weekend of the entire school year. Every school in Broome and Tioga Counties participate. Generously give to the Backpack Ministry on Sunday, August 25th!
