Local Missions
Noisy Offering
The noisy offering is a time we set aside once a month to gather an offering for local missions:
May’s Noisy Offering is going to the Salvation Army The Salvation Army’s ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in Jesus’ Name without discrimination. They provide so much more than Christmas presents for children and families. Services include: emergency one-time financial aid; short term shelter for the homeless; self-sufficiency guidance and other support; summer camps for children; disaster relief services-- they are often the first people to arrive to help; substance abuse rehabilitation; job placement and training; family thrift store; back-to-school supplies and backpacks; and food pantries/soup kitchens. They serve lunch and dinner every day Monday thru Friday and one meal on Saturday and Sunday. They serve 70-90 people at each meal, and also provide 100 boxes of food per week. There is no cost to the participants. Bill Ritter and Pastor Marlene are actively involved in this ministry. Prayerfully consider this important ministry and give generously. It will be collected on May 28th.
June’s Noisy Offering is going to our Children’s Summer Outreach The Children’s summer outreach events are in the planning stages. We will be collaborating with the Church Life Committee regarding summer activities. Our desire is to keep in contact with the children who have been involved in our past events and to keep their interest and involvement. The noisy offering will be collected June 25 th .
