Salvation Army
Ringing the bell for the red kettle drive hosted by the Salvation Army Each year we have volunteered to take a Saturday from 10 am until 6 pm divided into 2 hour shifts with two people each shift ringing at the Walmart in Johnson City. This year we will ring on Saturday, December 11 but the location may change. This is because a couple of our other Broome-Tioga Baptist Churches may join us for a church challenge to see who can bring in the most money for the Salvation Army. We will all ring on the same day but at different but similar locations. The following Monday the money will be counted by the Salvation Army and they will let us know who won. The prize you ask? Besides helping others in need, the church with the highest amount will be rewarded with their very own bell at the next BTBA get together. Next year, the bell will be handed over to whoever comes in first for that year and so on. So for us here at Memorial Park, can you help? Let Pastor Marlene or Bill Ritter know if you are free that day (December 11) and what time you can give. We will let the team know the location for us as soon as we know how many churches will be participating.
